Dosing systems in the CNC machine
Automatic filling, application and spraying
A dosing system with CNC technology combines a solution for all steps. With us, you can combine critical production processes in one machine concept.

A dosing system with CNC technology combines a solution for all steps
Dispensing systems are used wherever viscous, very liquid or gaseous materials need to be applied. In practice, this means, for example, applying heat-conducting paste to a component or coating it. The main challenge for industries that rely on dispensing systems is automation and streamlining the production chain.
Instead of distributing the value chain horizontally, it is possible to retool vertically with our CNC machines. Your employee controls the automated filling, gluing or moulding and solid-state processing directly on one machine. Key features include automatic tool changing and easy operation of the CNC software. As the devices are produced from our one-stop shop and in cooperation with Kübler GmbH, your machines can be flexibly retrofitted by us.

What you need to bear in mind with automatic dosing systems

Speed & dosing steps
In what size do you want to operate your work surface and how quickly can materials be dispensed? These factors determine the economic efficiency and determine how many dispensing steps are required for a pallet or workpiece.

Materials & viscosity
For different materials, you need appropriate dispensing heads consisting of a valve, nozzle and, if necessary, a mixer. To reduce shear forces and make optimum use of hose breathing, vary the tools to suit the viscosity of the materials to be dispensed.

Compactness & flexibility
The automation of dispensing systems allows you to decide for yourself, without involving additional robotics, which handles on the component your machine should complete on its own. You can change tools flexibly after programming, so the attachments always match the material viscosity and the prevailing pressure.

Precision & drive concepts
Accuracy and precision are of the utmost importance in dosing technology. In order to provide clear advantages over manual dosing, CNC dosing technology takes over the most economical or a very complex process route. Depending on how quickly and precisely you want to achieve, different drive concepts based on linear drives or ball screws are available.

Valve technology & tube breathing
In order to counteract shear forces, i.e. the linear thrust of the dosing material against the hose bends, an optimised topology is used for favourable hose breathing. This means that dosing takes place without the influence of short-term changes in viscosity or pressure. Valves are designed in such a way that they dispense via a stepper motor and prevent dripping by means of a relieving retraction.
FAQ
Answers to the most frequently asked questions about CNC dispensing
All our machines run on the basis of CNC software that can be used to operate various applications. Thanks to the high software compatibility of our partner Kübler GmbH through open interfaces, we can optimally utilise nozzle operation. We get the maximum efficiency out of your system when the machine movement and valve situation with pressure and flow are harmonised. This means that you do not need a split workspace for the controlled use of material parameters, neither virtual nor analogue.
If you decide to use your CNC machine for deburring, cutting or pre-treatment with plasma tools, for example, you can realise this at any time in coordination with your machine concept. We are a one-stop shop for your CNC technology and offer you a high degree of flexibility in the use of tools - once set up, your machine is free for retrofitting and you can order the necessary and compatible accessories in our dedicated shop. We will be happy to discuss the planned changes with you and recommend cost-effective solutions for the materials you will be working with in the future.
Pre-treatment is not necessary for every application of the dosing systems. Plasma pre-treatment is a good method for cleaning and activating components. The advantage of plasma pre-treatment is also that the components concerned can offer better adhesion and the wetting properties are increased. A plasma system can be mounted directly on the dosing head quick-change plate to enable economical processing with as few tool changes as possible.
Our systems are very well suited for bonding various components by bead application, i.e. dot or line dispensing. Regardless of the viscosity, Kübler's dispensing technology with the DOS-FLEX range specialises in polyurethane, silicone, polymers, filled EMC materials, thermally conductive pastes, foam and coating with applicators. The dispensing specialist's experience is also impressive in micro-moulding. For machines that have to dispense in the µ range, we use a finely adjusted technology from Kübler. It works with so-called piezo valves, with which droplet sizes of 1nl can be realised. Due to the combined experience of both companies in different industries, we rely on customised machine concepts that are stable and efficient even in chemically very aggressive environments.
Dosing technology is always based on the asynchronous or synchronous dosing principle. For example, asynchronous dosing systems with a downstream active mixer are designed to dose two components in portions. The cartridges therefore contain separate materials, but at the end they belong to one recipe. The dosed portion is independent of the machine cycle. This procedure is suitable when pigments or other bulk materials are dosed into liquid media. Synchronous dosing systems can also combine several components; the advantage over asynchronous systems lies in a constant mass flow. This corresponds to the desired material formulation at all times, as the components are added simultaneously without the need for a downstream mixer.
