Controller iMC-S8
The iMC-S8 step controller is the solution for precise and reliable Multi-axis controllers for 2-phase stepper motors. This compact, freely programmable controller is suitable for both linear and rotary axes and offers you the flexibility to efficiently control everything from individual axes to complete machines.
The iMC-S8 integrates all essential components such as power supply, safety circuit, power electronics and an intelligent core module, which is programmed via the RS232 interface. This module translates the commands stored in the user programme into clock/direction signals for the connected output stages. Depending on your requirements, you can use the controller in CNC or DNC mode. In CNC mode, the processor processes your previously created programme, while in DNC mode there is a permanent connection to a control computer.
Equipped with a powerful 32-bit RISC processor and flash memory, the iMC-S8 enables the storage of up to 350 commands at a maximum step output frequency of 40 kHz. The integrated power output stages offer flexible settings for step resolution and motor current to achieve optimum results. Functions such as automatic current reduction and configurable hardware limit switches are also included.
Additional safety is provided by an external EMERGENCY STOP and POWER connection for integration into higher-level safety circuits, while operating elements on the front of the housing allow easy access. The controller also supports external control signals such as START, STOP and RESET in CNC mode.
Technically, the iMC-S8 impresses with a wide-range mains input (100 - 250VAC), robust inputs/outputs and an analogue output for speed-controlled main spindles. Available in two versions - desktop housing and 19" housing - the controller adapts perfectly to your spatial requirements.
In addition to the controller itself, the scope of delivery includes the necessary mating connectors, a serial interface cable, mains cable and the PAL-PC software CD with comprehensive instructions for operation and programming.
